The S1386WHn from Acer is short-throw projector that is ideally suited for use in classrooms and other environments where space may be at a premium.¦It’s not always possible to have a permanent installation for a projector or to be able to dedicate space for one, especially in schools where projectors may be shared between multiple classrooms. To help address that, the S1386WHn has a ‘throw ratio’ of about 30-40% of most projectors, essentially, it doesn’t need to be as far away from the screen to produce as large an image – this means that even when the S1386WHn is less than a meter away from the screen, it’s still capable of producing an 87″ image.¦As well as being able to produce an 87″ image from less than a meter away from the screen, the S1386WHn can produce up to a 300″ maximum image size, meaning you can get a large enough projection so that everyone can easily see it. There’s also a 16W speaker built-in, so the S1386WHn can handle multimedia work without needing any additional hardware.¦The S1386WHn’s lamp is capable of outputting up to 3,600 lumens of brightness, which allows you to display clear images, even in brightly-lit environments, making it perfect for classrooms which may not be ideally design for projectors. The picture quality is further enhanced by a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, which provides dynamic black levels, and ColorBoost 3D, which boost color saturation by 30%.¦With the increasing use of laptops, Chromebooks and tablets in an education setting, it’s important that peripherals such as projectors are equipped to be compatible with a wide range of devices. To ensure all your bases are covered, the S1386WHn comes with a pair of HDMI port, a pair of VGA ports, a composite video connector and a pair of USB ports, ensuring that it can easily connect to a wide range of TV/AV devices, PCs & Macs and even USB memory sticks. Additionally, the S1386WHn supports wireless connectivity so it can be used with tablets & smartphones, as well as an ethernet port so it can be connected to a network and controlled remotely.¦To help the minimize the environmental impact of using the S1386WHn, it features Acer’s ExtremeECO functionality – ExtremeECO can save power consumption by up to 70% by automatically power down when not in use, plus it can dim the lamp by 30% which stretch it’s lifespan to up-to 10,000 hours usage, which can equate to years of use without needing to replace it.
